You May Say I'm A Dreamer...

And you'd be right.

Sometimes I spent too much time daydreaming about the future and I have to snap myself back to reality.

So what have I been dreaming about lately?

My future career.

Nope. Not the one that I'm currently going to school to do.

In fact, I see a degree as my back up plan.

Ever since I watched It's Complicated and saw this cute bakery in the movie my dream has been on my mind day in and day out.

So what's this BIG dream that makes me get butterflies in my tummy? (Besides the obvious dreams of my future family and a craft room the size of Texas)

I desperately want my own store/shop.

I haven't figured out a good one-word name for this store yet.

But I do want it to be full of everything my little hands can create.

In my unrealistic mind, my store is simple, clean, chic with a little country edge. (Perhaps I will use the Martha Stewart Show interior designer to help with the details.)

The store will kind of be like your momma's goolash, a little of this and a little of that.

I want my fresh garden grown veggies, fruits and herbs.

My freshly baked breads, cookies, cakes, granola bars and other sweets. All adorably packaged with sweet little labels that say something along the lines of, "Sweet Enough to Eat." or perhaps "Feed Your Kneed."

I will also sell jams, preserves, and pickled goods. (By the way, this is something I will be spending the summer doing so don't be surprised if I show up to your house with some jam in hand.)

So that takes care of the food portion of my store.....

But that just wouldn't be enough.

I also want to have a section for my homemade cleaning products. (I've been using homemade natural cleaning products for over two years now and love how effective, easy and healthy it is.)
Maybe my line of products can be called something like, "Healthy Home" or "Wholesome Home" maybe even "Tidy With Tori"m ;)

I know.

I'm crazy.

Who puts so much thought into such things?

But wait!

There's more!

Everyone knows about my sewing excursions that I've been working hard to perfect and you know I have to put them to good use.

I will make aprons, napkins and other small sewing projects including my very own reusable grocery/shopping bags.

A few other things I'd probably throw in my chic general store would be soy candles, handmade jewelry, a line of children's clothes complete with bows, homemade all natural face products.... this list really could go on and on forever.

Would you like to know the BEST part about my store?

All of it would be homemade with lots of love :) And everything I'd sell would be recycled and reusable.

I literally get flutters thinking about everything I just typed!

So the above is a lot for one little person to do.

And I've decided there are a few things I'm in need of if this dream is ever going to be able to come true.

1. I need a backer or is investor a better word? Backer kinda sounds like I'm dealing drugs....lol
2. I need to graduate and I guess make a little money in order to make this dream come true. Although, I wish I could skip the middle area.

3. Help. I will need lots of help. (I'm not good at asking for help or even allowing help for that matter. I blame it on the only child syndrome. I was doomed to be independent from the start)

So, if you'd like to throw away your current career and join together with me to make my dreams come true I promise you wouldn't regret it.

Give it some thought.

Do you really love your job?

Or would you rather sit around eating homemade bread dipped into fresh fig preserves while in the garden picking tomatoes? I promise I'd provide a big floppy straw hat, cute gloves and an apron.

Maybe I live in a fantasy world that things will work out just that perfectly.

But it's my dream.

And dreams.... they're meant to be made into realities.

Perhaps I won't have this dream fulfilled next year or even in the next ten years, but nothing would make me happier than to be my very own version of Martha Stewart just less famous and more edgy. ;)

Really?!

Before I tell you this story let me preface this by saying I'm always emotional but this....well, this is just ridiculous.

So about a week ago I was driving to work.

Just listening to the radio.

A Miley Cyrus song came on. (I'm not really even a fan of Miley.)

Anyway, driving along listening to Miley Cyrus and then it happened.

I burst into tears as I listened to the lyrics of her song.

Yeah, you're probably thinking, "Aww, The Climb. I can see how that can be so sad."

Nope.

I was indeed weeping while listening to Party In The USA!!!

I know you're thinking really? What? How?

Well, as I was listening I started thinking how sad it must be that Miley had to "hop off the plane at LAX" not knowing anyone. She had to have felt so alone. I mean everyone was "wearing stilletos" and she "didn't get the memo".

Yes, those were actual thoughts running through my overly emotional mind.

I was absolutely distaught that poor Miley Cyrus had to leave Nashville and go to Los Angeles not knowing a soul. I thought about how hard that must be.

Really! This was going on in my head.

What would cause me to have a reation like this to a song that has lyrics that say "the dj played my favorite song and a Britney song was on" or "Noding my head like yeah, moving my hips like yeah" and lastly, it says "There's a party in the USA!" ??????

P.M.S.

Girls, this has to be one of the craziest crying episodes to ever happen.

If you have something that will top this, please, be my guest I'd love to hear it.

Until then, I'm going to believe that P.M.S. makes only me a Miley Cyrus crying crazy person.

I've Jumped On...

....the bandwagon.

I can't believe the sentence that I'm about to type......

I, Victoria Adams have become a fan of Twilight.

Yes, me, the one who spent the last year poking fun of people watching movies and reading books about vampires.

I could not see the point in reading about something that is so unrealistic. I like reading books that pertain to my life directly.

But then.....

I went to RedBox one Wednesday night (my movie and me night) and there was nothing to rent, everything was checked out except for.......

This movie.

So I pressed the select button and carted it home thinking that I just wasted $1.08.

So I cooked my dinner sat down and pushed play.

There's not much more to say.

I was hooked.

Mainly because of this guy.

Don't you just want to make-out with him?

Well, I do.

I can't believe I just typed that.

He plays a flippin' vampire.

I haven't felt a movie crush like this since Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic pack in 7th grade.

He's definitely a hottie but I became even more in love with him when I found out he sings, plays guitar and piano.

So with much embarrassment I must now state that I too have become a Twilight junkie.

I want all the books.

I'm counting down the days until New Moon. (3)

And wishing I were Bella.

I feel like a junior high school girl.

Thanks Edward Cullen.

Weirdness? OCD? Who Knows?!

I'm not sure if what I'm about to describe is OCD or just plain weirdness. I call it OCD and have decided it's common. I have decided that everyone has some form of obsessive compulsive disorder/weirdness so why should I be any different?

I was out with the girls the other night in Uptown and the topic came up.

Everyone had something that fit into the "OCD" category. It's funny, after they tell you what it is, you notice them doing it all the time.

So you might be wondering, what are my OCD tendencies?

Well, on the top of the list might be sidewalks and any sewage contraption on the street. I hate them. And breaking a heel is the least of my problems.

I truly think that I might fall down into the sewage be carried down stream into nastiness and never be found again unless it's by disgusting vermin or the homeless. It also really scares me because I have this hear that I'm going to get caught as I'm falling down and break my leg into two pieces.

I really and truly cannot remember the last time I stepped on anything that might cause me to fall through a hole on the sidewalk... it's been years.

Sidewalks and I have an odd relationship. I also have a hard time stepping on the cracks. Someone really drilled that "Step on a crack and you'll break your momma's back!" thing into my head hardcore as a kid and I swear I took it to heart. This is something I'm not as OCD about though... it's hard to be when cracks are all over the place. I never step on them when I'm running in the park though. I actually think this is a blessing, it makes my stride much longer.

Clothes. Ugh. Clothes and I have a very odd relationship as well. And we have from a very very young age.

One word. SOCKS. I hate them. I've wanted them to be banished from earth since I was born and yet they're clearly still a part of people's/my life!

Before school when I was little I fought with socks every single morning.

Here is the problem. My toes must ALWAYS be moving! Socks, will not allow movement. In fact, they are made to do completely the opposite, they were made to confine toes. Who thought up this rubbish?! Toes are made to be free! They're made to roam about and wiggle around.

So yeah, socks.... socks and they're stupid seam at the toe completely made each morning as a child a living hell for me and my mother. We spent more time on finding the perfect "pair" of socks each morning than we did on anything else. Just because two socks came as a "pair" in a pack did not mean they were a "pair" for my feet. It was perfectly normal for me to be ok with one sock from the "pair" and hate it's mate. So we'd spend mornings looking for the sock's long lost mate that it had never even met. Each morning was spent with many many tears, screaming (mostly at socks) but sometimes at mom for not understanding the terror that I was going through. However, the morning always ended in finding a "pair" of socks that I could live with, but never a pair that was perfect.

I got dropped off at school at 8:00 and by 8:10 I already regretted my sock decision and wanted to scream. Yes, I was a weird child. I still have a hard time with socks although I have cut out the crying and screaming, the process is still quite the same.

Hangers. I think I might go crazy if all the hangers in my closet are not all plastic and white. And I think I'd have a complete meltdown if they weren't all facing the same way. All clothes must face the same way too. I can pick out a wrong hanger from a mile away. So please don't show me your closet of cleaner hangers, that would be cruel.

Grocery check out. I CANNOT just throw my grocery items on the counter in no particular order. I feel that groceries must be neatly placed on the conveyor belt in their own specific category. Most grocery items are placed into these groups: bread, eggs, fruits and veggies, cold stuff (dairy and frozen food), cold stuff (meats), can goods, dry goods (i.e. cereal, pasta) and then toiletries.

I take extra time to sort this out and make sure they are all in the right category. Why you ask? Because.... I'd throw a fit if I got home and the bread was crushed by a zucchini or the lettuce had chicken grossness all over it. These are things you have to think about because you can't count on a good bag boy these days. Plus, it just looks all neat and tidy on the counter :)

Alright, I hesitate to share anymore of my weirdness with you. In fact, I believe I have shared too much. I'm weird. I'm quirky. I'm different. I'm me.... in the best way possible. Deal with it or I'll push you down a sewage hole! :P
